3 Plant Scientists: Conduct research in breeding, propagate & grow horticultural specialty products & crops, such as seeds, bulbs, rootstocks, sod, ornamental plants and cut flowers using knowledge of plant culture, environmental control systems, climate & market conditions; regulate humidity, ventilation & carbon dioxide; explain and demonstrate care-taking techniques; quality control and enhance development, and position plants to artistically display products; inspect to ascertain nutrient deficiencies, defect insect, disease & pest infestations & identify any foreign-plant growth, oversee activities and develop new variations of species.

The initials MPS stand for Milieu Programma Sierteelt, which means Floriculture Environmental Program. It is a non-profit organization, founded in Holland in 1995 by growers who were concerned about consumer opinions regarding the impact of growing on the environment.
