Poinsettia 2012

Posted on 11/15/2012 in Poinsettia holiday decoration

It is hard to believe, but the holiday season is upon us. Our talented growing staff has been hard at work for many months, striving to grow the perfect poinsettia for your holiday enjoyment.

The poinsettia was first introduced to the United States in 1825 by Joel Robert Poinsett, the first U. S. ambassador to Mexico.  Poinsett discovered the unique red plants while wandering the countryside of southern Mexico. Poinsett will forever be honored for his discovery by the plant’s common name, poinsettia.

187 years later, the poinsettia is the quintessential holiday decoration.  Take a quick look at this year’s crop.
